The Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge area, where this Hotel is situated, has a large wildlife resource with a wide variety of species, but it is most noted for its very large howling monkey population, which can be heard or seen from your bed early in the morning, along with Blue Morpho butterflies and a myriad of colorful birds.

This out doors hotel is a complete turn key operation and is embraced by the rainforest and has open tent 24 suites in the jungle, restaurant and bar, kitchen, front desk area and conference centre. The hotel has a ICT contract, liqor license, 5 leaves under the CST program.
The final product resulted in a hotel that occupies, 17% of the total area, less than the allowed 40% for construction that the government grants, built with environmentally safe materials, and using the local architectural style of the Afro-Caribbean. All of the buildings at this hotel are lifted on stilts The whole structure of the hotel is built with treated pine wood and some hard wood that was legally purchased in the surrounding areas outside of the refuge. The style of each bungalow is built so that there is a maximization of the ventilation, isolation from the heat, protection from the humid climate, and enhancement of the natural elements of the rainforest such as view, sounds, and breeze. Permission to use the Maritine Zone was given in 1993 with no time limitation. The permission for building was for 5,305 m2 which could be increased under the National Park Plan.
