About us

Hotels4saleCostaRica delivers integrated hospitality consulting services and real estate for its investors throughout Central America. This earned experience we are putting at your disposal to make your investment decisions, development or management based on all the indicators of the industry and elements that should be considered by an experienced hotelier.

 

Hotels4saleCostaRica is a joint venture between Susana Guevara, MBA, hotel manager,   founder and senior consultant of the first consulting firm in the region "Consuhotel" and Peter van Hussen, Swiss International hotel school, hotel manager, boutique hotel owner, and owner of "Eco realtors" real estate.
We have collectively 50 plus years' experience in all sectors of the hotel industry.

 

Susana is the founder and senior consultant of Consuhotel.  With 28 years' experience in the hotel and tourism sector, she has held multiple management and operational positions in four and five stars hotels in Europe, luxury mega resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean,  and hotel chains and independent operated hotels  in Costa Rica. In 2008 she founds the firm Consuhotel, with a team of over then professional hoteliers with over 20 years' experience each, in the hospitality industry at the main international hotel chains such as Intercontinental Hotel Group, Marriott, Sheraton, Wyndham and Hilton. Consuhotel provides consulting, training, recruitment, management and outsourcing services in F&B, Human Resources and Sales and marketing to hotels and other tourism business.

 

Peter, has worked more than 25 years in different multiple hotel management positions from owner, general manager, operations and food and beverage management in Costa Rica, Holland and in the US. Peter graduated at the "School of Tourism" in Breda Holland and also graduated at the International Hotel School HOSTA in Switzerland under a Cornell administration and management program. Currently Peter is studying a Cornell course in Hotel Asset Management.

 

  • Also Peter was owner of Boutique Hotel "Canciones del Mar" Playa Jaco for more than 10 years. He also was general manager for a large real estate development firm in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. Additionally Peter is a licensed real estate agent in Costa Rica and specialized in the hotel brokerage.

Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing, Tourism and Real

Estate Management. Several degrees in: hotel marketing and sales, quality control, HACCP, industrial risk management, Realtor, Active Learning International Trainer, Adviser of Image obtained in  the United States, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain.

Languages: Spanish, English and basic French and German.

Nationalities: Costa Rican and Spanish.

With over 25 years’ experience in the hotel industry and tourism sector, she has held multiple management and operational positions in luxury mega- resorts in the Caribbean, four and five-star hotels in Europe and hotels in Costa Rica.

She has worked with quality and management systems of prestigious European and North-American hotel chains such as the Sol Melia Group, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Choice Hotels International as well as with international quality standards such as ISO 9001 and worldwide standard for food and safety UNE-EN-ISO 22000:2005 among others.

From 1997 to 2007, she held managerial positions in major 5 and 4 star, City and Vacation Hotels ,  part of the Sol Melia chain.  Barcelona, Tarragona, Balearic Islands and Canary Island  in Spain, Puerto Vallarta,  Mexico, Bavaro in The Dominic Republic  5 Star,

She held operational and managerial positions in Costa Rica with Sol Melia, Intercontinental and Choice Hotels chains as well   as  independent small and boutique hotels.

In 2008 she founds the firm Consuhotel, with a team of professional hoteliers with over 20 years’ experience each,  in the hospitality industry at the main international hotel chains such as Marriott, Sheraton and  Hilton. Consuhotel provides consulting, training, recruitment, management and outsourcing services in F&B, HR and Sales and marketing to hotels and other tourism business.
